The Banff Gondola is now closed for winter and will reopen in Summer 2016. For more information about our hibernation, read about our upper terminal redevelopment project.

On May 1, the Banff Gondola will open with limited upper terminal facilities until the new, world-class upper terminal’s grand opening restores full public access on August 1, 2016.

Directions to Banff Gondola
The Banff Gondola is located at the base of Sulphur Mountain at the end of Mountain Avenue in Banff, Alberta in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. The town of Banff is a short 1.5 hour drive west on the Trans-Canada Highway from Calgary and about a 3.5 hour drive south on the scenic Icefields Parkway from Jasper. The nearest International Airport is located in Calgary, Alberta. Once you have arrived into the townsite, the Banff Gondola is a short 2.5 kilometre (1.5 miles) drive from downtown. Located beside the Upper Hot Springs - a short 5 minute drive from downtown. If you require just transportation, contact Roam Transit for transit information to Sulphur Mountain. Provided year-round, please call (403) 762-0606 for info. Taxis are also available at any time of the year.
