The Compound at Maligne Lake
Situated on a knoll overlooking the world-famous Maligne Lake, linked by a courtyard, sits the Maligne Lake Chalet, historic Guest House, and most recently constructed period-styled washhouse. These three buildings make up our Maligne Lake Chalet Compound. 
 
Exchanging your vows at Maligne Lake provides both you and your guests’ exclusive access to this historic site for the entirety of your special day.

Maligne Lake Chalet
The Maligne Lake Chalet was constructed in 1927 by Major Fred Brewster (a member of the well-established Brewster family of Banff) and the Canadian National Railway. This building, constructed of peeled lodge pole pine provides an intimate setting for wedding gatherings of up to 80 people. A stunning feature of the hall, where Fred Brewster’s guests once dined and socialized, is its open-concept ceiling with an exposed massive log purlin beam, log rafters, pine shiplap decking and split field-stone fireplace. 
 
This building has now been outfitted with today’s technology and provides audio-visual equipment required for a modern day wedding celebration right down to a discreetly positioned flat screen TV.

The Cottage
The Cottage, once a four room guest house, has been renovated to provide a dressing area for the bridal party, a quiet place to momentarily retreat and withdraw during the day and an area where the youngest of guests may be cared for during an evening reception.

Coffee Services
An in-house coffee service is available for the bride and her attendants while they prepare for the big event. Coffee Services Available. Additional beverage service on consumption.
