The wildfire in the Verdant Creek area of Kootenay National Park continues to burn since first being detected on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Parks Canada staff are actively managing the fire; however, smoke is affecting air quality and reduced visibility in some areas of Banff National Park.
At this time, there are no impacts or disruptions to our operations.

Those with respiratory conditions should take precaution when visiting the area while smoke advisories are in place.

We are working closely with our partners to monitor and stay informed about the wildfire to ensure that we have the most up-to-date information.
For more information on the Verdant Creek wildfire, please visit Parks Canada’s website.
