It’s with great pride that we announce our decision to nominate David Morrison for the 2009 Alto Ambassador Award. The Alto Ambassador Award, selected by the Alto Committee, and endorsed by the Strategic Tourism Marketing Council, recognizes an exceptional Albertan who has made an outstanding contribution to the provincial tourism industry. This individual is a role model who has consistently demonstrated leadership throughout his or her career.
I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s a natural fit for David Morrison to be nominated for this award, after forty exceptional years with Brewster Inc. and his enormous contribution to the tourism industry over this time. That said, nominations require endorsements from industry colleagues, friends and acquaintances, which is where we are looking for your assistance.
If you are interested in assisting with the nomination, please click on the comments link below and tell us why you feel David Morrison is the best candidate for this award. Include the length of time you have known David, as well as any comments relating to the following categories that will be judged: Contribution to the Alberta tourism industry, Career Achievements, Impacts and Benefits, Dedication, Leadership, Ambassador Spirit and Vision.
We do need to present our nomination package no later than June 1st so if possible, we appreciate your early response. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. From all of us at Brewster Inc.

Michelle recently visited the Canadian Rockies all the way from Nova Scotia Canada and made the journey to the Columbia Icefield for a glacier tour like no other.
"the drive was hardly boring ... it was actually awe-inspiring. this is a part of the mountains that I have never seen before ... I can pretty much know the highway from calgary to lake louise by heart, but every turn on the icefields parkway was a surprise."

Seattle based musician Kyle Stevens recently took his first trip to Calgary and the Canadian Rockies. He wrote about his experience along side his photos on his personal blog.

"Though I was only up for a full day before being dropped of here at the airport, I did get to do the tourist thing by heading up to the top of Sulphor Mt. via the Gondola. A 10 minute trip [actually it's only 8 minutes :) editor] takes you up a rapidly escalating 9,000 feet to the top of the mountain and some of the cleanest air you've ever breathed. Crisp, cold as hell, and peaceful, a 1/4 mile walkway leads you along a swerving path that eventually reaches an outpost that was used in 1921 as a Canadian Mountie lookout station...that back then took 9 hours to reach from the bottom of the mountain."
