This memorable road trip from the Canadian Rockies to the Pacific Coast is packed with scenic highlights, Canadian culture, and Western Canada's best attractions.

Begin by taking in the history of Alberta's settlements and the Wild West before venturing into the majestic Rocky Mountains of Banff National Park. Prepare to be amazed by mountain-top views, following a quick gondola ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountain.

Continue to Lake Louise, a rare gem and one of Canada's most photographed locations. Venture into a rugged world of untouched mountain-scapes as you travel from Lake Louise to Jasper on the Icefields Parkway. Along the way, stop at the Columbia Icefield for a Glacier Adventure tour that takes passengers onto the Athabasca Glacier, followed by the Rockies newest attraction: Glacier Skywalk. Stand hundreds of metres above a natural mountain ecosystem on a glass platform, and take it all in.

Spend a peaceful overnight in the alpine village of Sun Peaks, surrounded forested mountians. Conclude your trip in the metropolitan city of Vancouver, set against the Coast Mountains, and home to an eclectic mix of art and culture.

DAY 1 – Calgary Arrival

Begin your adventure in Calgary, the cowboy capital of Canada. Explore the beautiful river valley, and learn about the rodeo and chuck wagon events that headline the Calgary Stampede. Visit Heritage Park, a "living museum" made up of historic buildings and costumed interpreters. Ride a steam train and scale-model sternwheeler, and visit an old-fashioned candy store and ferris wheel.

DAY 2 – Calgary to Banff

Travel through golden prairies and ranchlands to the towering peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Arrive in Banff National Park and spend a day exploring this hub of mountain culture. Take a scenic drive along Vermillion Lakes Road and watch for wildlife. Hike to Sundance Canyon, or rent a canoe and paddle the calm waters of the Bow River.

DAY 3 – Exploring Banff

Banff is yours to explore today. Relax or take a scenic stroll along the Bow River walking trails. Get up high for spectacular views of snowy peaks as you ascend Sulphur Mountain by gondola. Take a mountain-top boardwalk to the historic weather station of Sanson Peak. Soak up views of Mount Rundle as you relax in the warm soothing waters of Banff Upper Hot Springs.

DAY 4 – Sightseeing Banff to Lake Louise

Continue your exploration with a drive to Lake Louise and Yoho National Park. Visit beautiful Johnston Canyon, Moraine Lake and Takakkaw Falls, the third-highest waterfall in Canada. Stop to observe freight trains as they snake their way through the Spiral Tunnels. Visit the peaceful setting of Emerald Lake and stroll along the scenic lakeshore trail. Conclude your day in the spectacular wilderness setting of Lake Louise. Choose a bench, and gaze out over the emerald green waters backed by mighty Mount Victoria.

DAY 5 –  Lake Louise to Jasper

Today, travel through a rugged expanse of wilderness along the Icefields Parkway. This route is home to over one hundred visible glaciers, turquoise lakes and rushing waterfalls. Be sure to stop for a self-guided interpretive walk at Peyto Lake before continuing to the Columbia Icefield. Ride an all-terrain Ice Explorer onto the icy slopes of Athabasca Glacier. Step out on a glass viewing platform suspended 918 feet above Sunwapta Valley at the Glacier Skywalk. Continue to the scenic wonder of Athabasca Falls and photograph the river plunging into a deep gorge far below. Continue to the authentic mountain town of Jasper for an evening at leisure.

DAY 6 – Jasper to Sun Peaks

Depart Jasper and head west into the province of British Columbia. Stop for views of the majestic Mount Robson towering overhead. Continue through the beautiful Monashee and Cariboo mountain ranges to the North Thompson River Valley. Ascend into the Shuswap Highlands, and arrive at the peaceful alpine oasis of Sun Peaks. Spend an evening at leisure in this charming mountain resort.

DAY 7 – Sun Peaks to Vancouver

Continue your journey towards the Pacific Coast, passing through rolling desert hills and wide sweeping river valleys. Stop at Hell's Gate for an air tram ride over the thundering waters of Fraser River Canyon. Arrive in the city of Vancouver, and breathe in the fresh ocean air. Spend your evening exploring this hub of art, music, and west coast culture. Enjoy a flight simulation of Canada's dynamic landscapes from coast to coast at FlyOver Canada.

DAY 8 – Departing Vancouver
