Itinerary

DAY 1 – Calgary to Banff

Travel from Calgary through Alberta’s cowboy country into the spectacular Rocky Mountains. Continue with a tour through the landmarks of Banff National Park. Learn about the hoodoo rock formations that stand like sentinels above the Bow Valley. Photograph Bow Falls, and look down at the Bow River and Banff Springs Hotel from Surprise Corner lookout. Gaze out over the emerald waters of Two Jack Lake. Take a ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountain at the Banff Gondola.

DAY 2 – Lake Louise to Yoho National Park

Enjoy a full day tour through the natural wonders of Lake Louise and Yoho National Park. Begin with a walk along the sheer limestone walls, pools, and waterfalls of Johnston Canyon. Stand on the shores of picture-perfect Lake Louise, and photograph the crystal blue waters of Moraine Lake. Continue over the Continental Divide into Yoho National Park, and look way up at the powerful flow of water plunging 384 metres at Takakkaw Falls. Enjoy the quiet serenity of Emerald Lake before returning to Banff for an evening of relaxing and enjoying mountain views.

DAY 3 – Banff to Jasper

Join a full day tour north along the famous Icefields Parkway to Jasper. Travel through mountain corridors surrounded by rugged peaks, sparkling glaciers, and aquamarine lakes. Pass by scenic landmarks including Crowfoot Glacier, Peyto Lake, Bow Lake, and Athabasca Falls. Take an all-terrain Ice Explorer onto the Athabasca Glacier, and step out high above Sunwapta Valley at the Glacier Skywalk. Continue to the alpine resort town of Jasper and enjoy an evening exploring the shops and walking trails of this eclectic mountain town.

DAY 4 – Jasper to Sun Peaks

Depart Jasper and travel through mountain corridors surrounded by glacier-covered peaks and glistening lakes. Glimpse views of towering Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies range. Travel through Valemount, a haven for explorers, hikers, and skiers. View the beautiful landscapes of the Monashee and Caribou ranges, stopping in the resort town of Blue River for lunch. This outdoor haven is home to spectacular mountain views, and a host of wildlife including deer, moose, bear, caribou and eagles.  Continue west through the town of Clearwater, situated amongst forested mountain peaks, and pristine lakes and rivers. Follow the Thompson River Valley south, surrounded by pastoral farmland and ranches.  Ascend through the Shuswap Highlands into the alpine village of Sun Peaks. Enjoy an evening stroll through this scenic wilderness, and keep your eye out for wildlife photo opportunities.

DAY 5 – Sun Peaks to Vancouver

Continue your journey toward Vancouver passing from forested mountains to the dramatic desert scenery of British Columbia’s cowboy country.  Follow the Thompson River Valley through Spences Bridge, a small town established during the Cariboo Gold rush of the 1850’s. Continue south toward Hell’s Gate and the spectacular Fraser Canyon. Lunch and a tram ride at Hell’s Gate offers a chance to witness the power of water as it churns and pushes through the narrow Hell’s Gate gorge. Following lunch, wind along the mighty Fraser River through lush pastoral valleys, passing into the urban centres of Abbotsford, Langley, and Surrey. Conclude in the coastal city of Vancouver surrounded by spectacular ocean views and the impressive peaks of the Coast Mountains. Enjoy a flight simulation over the scenic wonders of Canada from coast to coast at FlyOver Canada.

DAY 6 – Vancouver Depature

This memorable holiday concludes upon checkout from your downtown Vancouver hotel.
