Next, travel to the Canadian Rockies and the beautiful resort town of Banff. Visit treasured landmarks and scenic wonders including Bow Falls, the Hoodoo rock formations, and Lake Minnewanka. At the Banff Gondola, stand on the peak of Sulphur Mountain and look out over a sea of mountains. Take the road trip of a lifetime through the rugged expanse of wilderness that surrounds the Icefield Parkway. Top off this epic day at the Columbia Icefields, and venture out onto the Glacier Skywalk suspended high above Sunwapta Valley. At the Glacier Adventure, ride an all-terrain Ice Explorer across the frozen expanse of the Athabasca Glacier.

Day 1 – Calgary Arrival

Welcome to the cowboy capital of Canada, and home of the Calgary Stampede! Known as the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, this festival hosts the top cowboys and rodeo competitors in the world, along with many talented musicians and performers. Arrive in Calgary, and spend your day exploring this vibrant city.

Day 2 – Calgary Stampede

Enjoy a full day of excitement at the Calgary Stampede grounds. Check out the livestock exhibits, eclectic food stands, mid-way rides, and live music performances. Highlight your day with the Stampede Rodeo, featuring a spectacular lineup of rodeo events performed by talented cowboys.  Events include ladies barrel racing, bareback riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc, and bull riding. Take a quick ride to the elevated viewing platform at Calgary Tower and gaze out over the city into the golden prairies and ranching country of Alberta. On a clear day you can see the foothills and mountains of Alberta’s Kananaskis region.

Day 3 – Calgary Stampede

Immerse yourself in cowboy culture with another full day of action at the Stampede. Continue your exploration of the extensive festival grounds, with a full new lineup of performances and music available throughout the day. Conclude your exciting day with an evening of entertainment featuring the Rangeland Derby chuckwagon races and the Grandstand Show. Watch in awe as skilled cowboys race chuckwagons and a team of horses around a racetrack. The show continues with a variety extravaganza including comedy, song and dance performances, acrobatics, and a spectacular fireworks finale.

Day 4 – Calgary to Banff

Depart Calgary aboard a luxury motor coach bound for the Rocky Mountains. Travel through ranchlands and rolling foothills into the spectacular rugged peaks of Banff National Park. Visit the landmark sights of Banff with stops at Bow Falls, the Hoodoo rock formations, and Two Jack Lake. Ascend Sulphur Mountain in a gondola and look out over a sea of mountaintops and the Bow Valley far below. Stroll along the shoreline of Lake Minnewanka before concluding the day’s adventure at your hotel. Your evening is free to enjoy the quaint downtown shops and cafes of Banff.

Day 5 – Columbia Icefield Day Trip

Today, travel through a rugged expanse of wilderness along the Icefields Parkway. This route is home to over 100 visible glaciers, turquoise lakes, and rushing waterfalls. At the Columbia Icefields, board an all-terrain Ice Explorer and venture onto the ancient Athabasca Glacier. Step out on a glass viewing platform suspended 918 feet above Sunwapta Valley at the Glacier Skywalk. Return along the scenic Bow Valley Corridor to Banff for an evening at leisure.

Day 6 – Banff to Calgary

Your memorable vacation concludes with a morning checkout and shuttle service to the Calgary International Airport.
