Each year, the Calgary Stampede draws visitors from around the world for 10 days of professional rodeo events, live music, performances, and much more! Take in the action with live rodeo events including bull riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling, and chuck wagon races. Watch a lineup of great musical and dance performances at the Grandstand Show, and wander the vast expanse of Stampede Grounds, packed with music stages, livestock displays, midway rides, and an eclectic mix food carts.

Next, change pace and discover the untouched wilderness setting of Columbia Icefield. Look out over ancient glaciers, sparkling waterfalls, and emerald coloured lakes during an enchanting drive along the Icefield Parkway. Prepare to be amazed as you step out high above the Sunwapta Valley on the glass platform of the Glacier Skywalk. Ride an all-terrain Ice Explorer into a world of rock and ice with the Glacier Adventure. This exciting mix of city sights, Stampede events, and majestic mountains is a unique getaway for both cosmopolitan travelers and nature lovers.

Day 1 – Calgary Arrival

Welcome to the cowboy capital of Canada, and home of the Calgary Stampede! Known as the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, this festival hosts the top rodeo competitors in the world, along with many talented musicians and performers. Arrive in Calgary, and spend your day exploring this vibrant city.

Day 2 – Calgary Stampede

Enjoy a full day of excitement at the Calgary Stampede grounds. Check out the livestock exhibits, eclectic food stands, mid-way rides, and live music performances. Highlight your day with the Stampede Rodeo, featuring a spectacular lineup of rodeo events performed by talented cowboys.  Events include ladies barrel racing, bareback riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc, and bull riding. Take a quick ride to the elevated viewing platform at Calgary Tower and gaze out over the city into the golden prairies and ranching country of Alberta. On a clear day you can see the foothills and mountains of Alberta’s Kananaskis region.

Day 3 – Calgary Stampede

Immerse yourself in cowboy culture with another full day of action at the Stampede. Continue your exploration of the large festival grounds, with a full new lineup of performances and music available throughout the day. Conclude your exciting day with an evening of entertainment featuring the Rangeland Derby chuckwagon races and the Grandstand Show. Watch in awe as skilled cowboys race chuckwagons and a team of horses around a racetrack. The show continues with a variety extravaganza including comedy, song and dance performances, acrobatics, and spectacular fireworks finale.

Day 4 – Calgary to Columbia Icefield

Today, travel through a rugged expanse of wilderness along the Icefields Parkway. This route is home to over 100 visible glaciers, turquoise lakes and rushing waterfalls. At Columbia Icefield, board an all-terrain Ice Explorer and venture onto the icy slopes of Athabasca Glacier. Step out on a glass viewing platform suspended 918 feet above Sunwapta Valley at the Glacier Skywalk. Spend a peaceful evening in the wilderness setting of Columbia Icefield. When all the visitors depart, soak up some quiet serenity as the sun sets over the towering peaks and glaciers surrounding Glacier View Inn.

Day 5 – Columbia Icefield to Calgary

Your memorable vacation concludes with a scheduled shuttle service to the Calgary International Airport.
