Kananaskis Snowshoeing

Embrace the winter by walking across the thick snow pack instead of through it. Discover this 6000 year old mode of transportation surrounded by the serenity of Kananaskis’ snow covered forests, by day, starlight, or the full moon.

There's three tours to choose from:

  • Sunday Snowshoeing (4 hours): While you journey, you will be taught about the history of the Kananaskis Valley. In the quiet and serenity of our snow covered forests you’ll learn how different species survive this harsh season. Hot chocolate and cookies included.
  • Full Moon Snowshoeing (3 hours): The perfect date night for outdoorsy couples and the adventurous alike! Enjoy a beautiful snowshoe tour beneath a blanket of stars and lit by the moon. Then afterwards sit fireside at the Village Centre and enjoy a chocolate fondue.
  • Stargazing & Fondue Tour (3 hours): Join your skilled guide on a starlit snowshoe through a frosty forest, enjoy a hot drink in a mountain meadow and be awed by the incredible vastness of the milky way before your eyes. Be dazzled by a sky full of more stars than you can possibly imagine. Upon your return relax by the fire and indulge in decadent chocolate fondue.
