Let Banff Do The Driving For You

Banff Transportation Options & Suggestions

Why not relax and let Banff do the driving during your next visit to the Rockies? With regular departures from Downtown Calgary and the Calgary International Airport, the Brewster Banff Airport Express allows you to enjoy the views, arrive refreshed and be ready to enjoy all that the mountains have to offer.

Here’s a list of ways to enjoy the mountains without a car:

  • Local transit: the local bus operated by Roam Transit services the Banff town site, Banff to Canmore and now offers a local route in Canmore. Check out the Roam Transit Website for more information and schedules.
  • Walking distance: many hotels are located conveniently so close to the downtown core that you won't require a vehicle once you arrive. Elk + Avenue and Mount Royal Hotel are both centrally located steps from all the activity.

  • Hotel pick-up and drop off: local sightseeing tour operators in Banff offer convenient hotel pick-up and drop-off locations at most hotels in Banff.
  • Transfers to local towns: in addition to the Calgary to Banff airport transfers, the Brewster Banff Airport Express offers transfers to Lake Louise, Canmore and Kananaskis should you wish to explore the neighboring communities during your visit.

  • No need to worry about parking: we won't sugar coat it - parking in Banff can be tricky, especially on peak weekends and peak times throughout the day. Help reduce traffic congestion and do your part for the environment by leaving your car at home.
  • Shuttles to local ski hills: Sunshine, Norquay and Lake Louise Ski Resorts all offer shuttle transportation direct to the hill from Banff for a nominal fee. You’ll be dropped off right outside the lodge or gondola base and avoid the long walk from the parking lot!

  • Kick back, relax and enjoy a few drinks: you’ll never have to worry about finding a designated driver when you let Banff do the driving for you.
  • Unique methods of travel: finally you always have the chance to explore on horse drawn carriage or sleigh – that’s much more fun than travelling in a car!

Not only are you helping the environment but you’ll get to relax and enjoy your Banff getaway.
