There are lots of places across Canada to see the beautiful vibrant fall colors and the best time to view is the beginning of September to mid-October. Come and explore Ontario, Quebec, Eastern Canada and the Canadian Rockies; below is a list of our favorite spots to see fall across Canada:
You will see leaves changing from green to yellow and gold and the snow starting to trickle down. There are many spots to hike and see the colors; take advantage of Johnston’s Canyon, Tunnel Mountain, Lake Agnes, Moraine Lake and Larch Valley to name just a few. One of our favorite places to explore is the Lake Louise area during the annual Lake Louise Fall Festival
held the end of August to mid October.
Some of the best places to get out and explore fall in Ontario are Algonquin Park
, Agawa Canyon, Niagara Parkway, and the Bruce Peninsula. You can take a leisurely ‘Sunday’ drive or get out of the car and hike through the splendid Ontario flora, fauna and water vistas. You'll also enjoy a ride on VIA Rail from Toronto –Montreal-Quebec City- Halifax nothing is more romantic then the dramatic autumn changes to the area.
Quebec is famous for its fall foliage simply because of the sugar maple trees along with the yellow birch and American beech. The Laurentian Mountains offer one of the most beautiful displays of fall foliage found in North America. Colors begin to peak at the end of September and continue through to late October. From mid-September to mid-October celebrate with the annual Symphony of Colours Festival
Prince Edward Island forests offer a fantastic opportunity to see exceptional colors in autumn, with one of the longest fall foliage periods in North America. Travel to an area that is considered one of the world’s most beautiful drives, the Cabot Trail
. Fiery reds, oranges, crimsons and gold blanket the highlands and reach their peak around the first or second week of October. The Fundy Coastal Drive
is another outstanding drive, see some of the highest tides in the word and enjoy the vivacious reds and deep pumpkin oranges, usually reaching their peak in mid-October.
