Karen recently traveled from Toronto to the snowy Canadian Rockies, "I had my first snowfall...it still has not snowed yet in Toronto". After spending the day in Calgary, they traveled west to Banff and enjoyed a ride up Sulphur Mountain on the Banff Gondola to see the "gorgeous view" from the top. Later that afternoon they went onto Lake Louise "a well known turquoise coloured lake...and the beautiful mountains surrounding it".
The next day they headed up Highway 93 for a daytrip to the Columbia Icefield, with many beautiful stops along the way. When they arrived at the Icefield Centre, "We took a special tour bus which took us onto the Athabasca Glacier. Look how huge the tires are! That's me standing beside the bus which is already on the glacier". They learned lots about the area and surrounding Icefield "according to the bus driver, those small crevices are actually pretty large and some of them can fit up to six of the large buses stacked on top of one another..."
