Continue to the French speaking Quebec City for some old world architecture and charm. This UNESCO World Heritage Site in the only remaining walled city north of Mexico, and home to hundreds of immaculately preserved adaptations of 18th and 19th century Normandy building styles.

Travel to the Maritime province of Nova Scotia in the comfort of VIA Rail's Ocean train. Arrive in Halifax and enjoy the sights of this historic port city. Friendly residents, keltic music, and delicious seafood highlight this lively city. Beer lovers will find themselves in good company, with many unique microbreweries, and the famous Alexander Keith's brewery located in the city.

Escape the seaside with a visit to Peggy's Cove. Watch waves crash on the rugged rocky coast, and stroll through colourful wooden houses. Continue to the spectacular destination of Cape Breton, the Scotland of North America. DAY 1 – Montreal Arrival

Arrive in the culturally rich city of Montreal and spend the remainder of your day exploring. Montreal offers a great array of experiences with a continuous lineup of summer festivals, an endless variety of cuisine from around the world, and home to many award winning fashion designers and up-and-coming artists. Explore the many districts, each with a distinct culture and flavour, including Little Italy, Mile End, Old Montreal, Chinatown, and many more.

DAY 2 –  Exploring Montreal

Join an excursion through Montreal's landmark sights and historic points of significance. Visit Old Montreal, the Notre-Dame Basilica, Olympic Park, the Mount Royal Lookout, McGill University, the Montreal harbour, St. Joseph's Oratory, City Hall, and Place Des Arts. The remainder of your day is free to enjoy the city and continue your exploration. Don't miss the chance to check out the underground labrynth of corridors lined with shops and services. Montreal residents use these passageways to travel large distances through the downtown core during heavy traffic and unfavourable weather.

DAY 3 – Montreal to Quebec City

Board a VIA Rail Train for an afternoon rail trip through the Quebec countryside to Quebec City. Enjoy first class service and ammenities during this scenic journey east. Upon arrival, the remainder of your evening is free to explore the cobblestone streets of one of the oldest cities in North America. The old fortified city is contained by high stone ramparts, and is the only remaining walled city north of Mexico. Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Quebec City contains hundreds of surviving heritage homes and buildings in an adaptation of the 17th and 18th century styles of Normandy.

DAY 4 –  Quebec City and VIA Rail

Join a morning tour through Quebec City's significant landmarks. Begin at the Plains of Abraham where the famous battle between the French and English took place in 1759. Visit the Ramparts, the Latin Quarter, the National Assembly, Place Royale, and City Hall. Conclude your day with an evening transfer to the train station, and board the VIA Rail Ocean train for your overnight journey to Halifax. Enjoy onboard amenities, delicious meals, and cozy sleeping accommodations onboard the train.

DAY 5 –  Halifax Arrival

Continue your journey east towards the province of Nova Scotia onboard the VIA Rail Ocean train. Gaze out large picture windows at pastoral farmlands and lush rolling hills drift by. Arrive in the Maritime city of Halifax and spend your evening enjoying this friendly and vibrant city. Check out the local cuisine featuring a variety of delicious seafood, and don't miss the opportunity to take in some live Acadian music.

DAY 6 - Halifax to Charlottetown

Depart Halifax on your included transfer to Enfield where you will meet your Tour Director or Driver/Guide and fellow travelers. Once only accessible by ferry, today we arrive on Prince Edward Island via the Confederation Bridge, the world’s longest continuousmulti-span bridge. Enroute, learn about Mi'kmaq culture at the Glooscap Heritage Centre & Mi’kmaq Museum. Experience true Maritime hospitality this evening at a traditional hall-style lobster supper before checking into our Charlottetown accommodations for a two-night stay.

DAY 7 - Prince Edward Island Touring

Enjoy a free morning in Charlottetown, Canada birthplace, or join a complimentary walking tour of the city. This afternoon, drive by red cliffs, white beaches, gently sloping sand dunes and green fields as we make our way to Prince Edward Island National Park. Before returning to Charlottetown, visit Green Gables Heritage Site, the alluring inspiration of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic Anne of Green Gables books. Take in a theatre performance this evening by local entertainers at the Confederation Centre of the Arts (theatre schedule permitting).

DAY 8 - Charlottetown to Halifax

Today, take a ferry over the Northumberland Strait back to Nova Scotia where we will spend one more night in Halifax. Enjoy an evening at leisure in Halifax exploring the harbourfront.
