DAY 1 – Arriving in Toronto

Arrive in downtown Toronto, and enjoy a day exploring this metropolitan city. A variety of interesting cultural venues and districts are available to explore within the downtown core, from the Distillery District, to Little Italy, to the quirky Kensington Market neighborhood.

DAYS 2 – VIA Rail to Jasper

Board a VIA Rail overnight train at Union Station, and begin your journey west towards Jasper. Enjoy the many onboard amenities VIA Touring Class has to offer including delicious meals, comfortable overnight accommodations, and large picture windows for taking in the scenery. Overnight aboard the train in a sleeping car.

DAYS 3 & 4 – VIA Rail to Jasper

Your rail journey continues with fantastic views of the rugged forests and fresh water lakes of the Canadian Shield.  The panorama viewing car offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, the lounge car offers tasty beverages and socializing, and the dining car serves up first-class cuisine for every meal. Overnight aboard the train.

DAY 5 –  Arriving in Jasper

Following an afternoon arrival at the train station, spend an evening exploring the eclectic mountain town of Jasper. This town is situated in the heart of Jasper National Park, surrounded by towering peaks, and home to many species of native wildlife.

DAY 6 – Exploring Jasper

Get acquainted with the scenic wonders and historic tales of Jasper with a sightseeing tour. Look out over the mighty Athabasca River, and learn about the early explorers and mountaineers who passed through the area now known as Jasper National Park. Gaze down into the limestone walls of Maligne Canyon, and learn about the disappearing Medicine Lake. Photograph the vast waters of Maligne Lake, one of the largest lakes in the Canadian Rockies.

DAY 7 –  VIA Rail  to Vancouver

Board a VIA Rail train and resume your journey West towards Vancouver, with many amenities onboard to make you feel at home. Pass through the Caribou and Monashee mountain ranges, and look out over the Thompson River Valley. Pass by the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate Canyon, and take in the rolling desert hills of interior British Columbia. Overnight aboard the train.

DAY 8 – Arriving in Vancouver

Arrive at Pacific Central Station and spend a day exploring the modern metropolis of Vancouver. Stroll along the sea wall, and check out the world-class shopping and entertainment in the downtown core. Visit FlyOver Canada for an overview of Canada’s dynamic scenery from coast to coast.

DAY 9 –  Departing Vancouver

A morning checkout from your downtown hotel concludes this memorable rail adventure.
