Day 1 – Vancouver Arrival
Welcome to the beautiful city of Vancouver, situated on the Pacific Coast of British Columbia and backed by the spectacular Coast Mountain range. The day is yours to explore the many highlights of downtown. For locally crafted food, art and clothing, visit the Granville Island Market. Stroll through historic Gastown, or take a walk along the seawall. A visit to FlyOver Canada provides a great introduction to Canada’s diverse geography and scenic wonders, from coast to coast.
Day 2 – Vancouver to Kamloops
All aboard the Rocky Mountaineer sightseeing train, headed west towards Kamloops. Travel through the Pacific Coast mountains and Fraser Valley. Pass over Hell’s Gate Canyon, where 200 million gallons of water per minute thunder through a 33-metre-wide passage. Continue into the rolling hills and vast lakes of the Okanagan region, with an overnight stay in the city of Kamloops.
Day 3 – Kamloops to Lake Louise
Enjoy a second day aboard the Rocky Mountaineer train bound for Banff National Park and the Canadian Rockies. Gaze out over the ever-changing scenery as wide-open valleys transition to forested hills and finally to rugged mountain peaks. Continue through the untouched wilderness of Roger’s Pass and Kicking Horse Pass. Pass through the Spiral Tunnels, and conclude in the alpine village of Lake Louise. Take in the towering peaks surrounding the emerald-green waters of postcard-perfect Lake Louise.
Day 4 – Lake Louise
Get acquainted with the scenic wonders of Banff & Yoho National Parks during an afternoon tour. Photograph the spectacular beauty of Moraine Lake and Valley of the Ten Peaks. Look way up at Takakkaw Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Canada. Take a stroll along the shores of Emerald Lake. Enjoy an evening at leisure in Lake Louise.
Day 5 – Lake Louise to Banff
Travel along the Bow Valley Corridor, past Mount Temple and Castle Mountain, to the famous resort town of Banff. Spend a day exploring this hub of mountain art and culture. Stroll through the bustling streets of downtown, take a walk along the Bow River trails, or rent a canoe to explore further afield.
Day 6 – Banff to Calgary
Visit Banff’s top sights and historic attractions during a morning tour. Learn the historical significance of the hoodoo rock formations, and photograph Bow Falls. Look out over the scenic waters of Two Jack Lake and Lake Minnewanka. Ride a gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain, for a 360 degree view of the surrounding peaks and Banff townsite far below. Depart Banff and travel through rolling foothills and cowboy ranching country to the city of Calgary. This memorable tour concludes upon arrival at the Calgary International Airport.
