Day 1 – Vancouver Arrival

Welcome to the metropolitan city of Vancouver! Enjoy a day exploring this urban oasis, with much to see and discover, including Stanley Park, historic Gastown, English Bay, and the unique shops and artisan food markets of Granville Island. Get acquainted with Canada’s scenic highlights during a coast-to-coast flight simulation at FlyOver Canada. Your evening is at leisure to explore downtown Vancouver or relax by the waterfront.

Day 2 – Vancouver to Sun Peaks

Depart the beautiful coastal city of Vancouver and travel east, as city-scapes transition to pastoral farmland and lush valleys, and the highway follows the Fraser River. Continue north towards Hell’s Gate and the spectacular Fraser Canyon. Lunch and a tram ride at Hell’s Gate offers a chance to witness the power of water as it churns and pushes through the narrow Hell’s Gate gorge. Pass through Spence’s Bridge, a small town established during the Cariboo Gold Rush of the 1850’s. Wind along the Thompson River through the dramatic desert scenery of British Columbia’s cowboy country. The road climbs steadily up from Kamloops through the Shuswap Highlands into the mountain region of Sun Peaks. Enjoy an evening stroll through this beautiful alpine village, and keep your eye out for wildlife photo opportunities.

Day 3 – Sun Peaks to Banff

Continue your journey west, passing through grassy, rolling hills and ranchlands to Okanagan Lake Country. The landscape transitions into forested hills, orchards, and expansive lakes, winding through a series of scenic valleys. Witness the landscape change from wide-open skies to towering, rugged peaks as you ascend into the Rocky Mountains. Stop for lunch in the alpine town of Revelstoke before continuing through the untouched wilderness of Roger’s Pass. Stand on the shores of Lake Louise, surrounded by towering mountains, and take a quick stroll around the lake. Continue along the Bow Valley Parkway, through the heart of Banff National Park, to the resort town of Banff.  

Day 4 – Banff

Discover the sights and landmarks of Banff National Park with a morning tour. Learn about the hoodoo rock formations that stand like sentinels above the Bow Valley. Photograph Bow Falls, and look down at the Bow River and Banff Springs Hotel from Surprise Corner lookout. Gaze out over the emerald waters of Two Jack Lake. Experience Banff from the sky and water, with a ride up the Banff Gondola followed by a cruise along the shores of Lake Minnewanka. The remainder of your day is free to enjoy the beautiful setting of Banff.

Day 5 – Banff to Jasper

Take a full day sightseeing excursion to Jasper along the famous Icefields Parkway. View the sparkling Crowfoot Glacier, and behold the aquamarine waters of Bow Lake. Take a ride on an all-terrain Ice Explorer and set foot on the Athabasca Glacier. At the Glacier Skywalk, look way down from a glass platform suspended 280 metres above the Sunwapta Valley. Witness the power of water at the mighty Athabasca Falls. Conclude in the alpine resort of Jasper for an evening at leisure.

Day 6 – Jasper to Vancouver

Board an overnight VIA Rail train headed west to Vancouver. Wind through the Monashee and Caribou mountain ranges, and gaze up at the towering peak of Mount Robson. Relax and enjoy the many services and rail cars available on the VIA Canadian train, from dome viewing cars and lounge cars to the fine dining car where dinner will be served. Spend the night aboard the train in a sleeper car.

Day 7 – Vancouver

Continue by train towards Vancouver, with a morning arrival at Pacific Central Station. Spend a day exploring the many landmarks and sights of this modern city. Check out the unique shops and artisanal food vendors at Granville Island Market, stroll along the seawall, and discover the trails of Stanley Park that wind through urban rainforest.

Day 8 – Vancouver Departure

Your memorable vacation concludes with a morning checkout from your downtown Vancouver hotel.
