Day 2 – Vancouver to Sun Peaks

Depart the beautiful coastal city of Vancouver and travel east through the urban centres of Surrey, Langley, and Abbotsford. City-scapes transition to pastoral farmland and lush valleys as the highway follows the Fraser River. Continue north towards Hell’s Gate and the spectacular Fraser Canyon. Lunch and a tram ride at Hell’s Gate offer a chance to witness the power of water as it churns and pushes through the narrow Hell’s Gate gorge. Pass through Spence’s Bridge, a small town established during the Cariboo Gold Rush of the 1850’s. Travel along the Thompson River through the dramatic desert scenery of British Columbia’s cowboy country. The road climbs steadily up from Kamloops through the Shuswap Highlands into the mountain region of Sun Peaks.

Day 3 – Sun Peaks to Banff

Continue your journey west, passing through grassy rolling hills and ranchlands to Okanagan Lake Country. The landscape transitions into forested hills, orchards, and expansive lakes, winding through a series of scenic valleys. Witness the landscape change from wide open skies to towering rugged peaks as you ascend into the Rocky Mountains. Stop for lunch in the alpine town of Revelstoke before continuing through the untouched wilderness of Roger’s Pass. Stand on the shores of Lake Louise, surrounded by towering mountains, and take a quick stroll around the lake. Continue along the Bow Valley Parkway through the heart of Banff National Park to the resort town of Banff.

Day 4 - Banff

Enjoy a morning tour of Banff National Park's landmark sights including the Hoodoo rock formations, Bow Falls, Surprise Corner lookout, and Two Jack Lake. Next, take an enchanting ride to the peak of Sulphur Mountain and look out over a sea of mountains stretching as far as the eye can see. Get out on the water at Banff Lake Cruise and travel to the far reaches of Lake Minnewanka and Devil’s Gap. The remainder of your day is free to explore the sights of Banff. Rent a canoe and paddle to Vermillion Lakes, or rent a bike and ride to Sundance Canyon. Downtown Banff is filled with art galleries, unique shops, and boutiques for those who wish to shop.

Day 5 – Banff to Jasper

Depart Banff and travel north on the Icefield Parkway to Columbia Icefield. This parkway travels through the rugged untouched wilderness of Banff and Jasper National Parks. Pass by towering peaks, hanging glaciers, sparkling waterways, and pristine forests during this scenic drive. Arrive at the Columbia Icefield and board an all-terrain Ice Explorer for a unique adventure onto the Athabasca Glacier. Continue to the Glacier Skywalk and tiptoe onto a glass viewing platform suspended high above Sunwapta Valley. Continue toward Jasper with a stop to photograph the thundering beauty of Athabasca Falls.
