Day 1 – Vancouver Arrival

Welcome to Canada’s spectacular Pacific Coast, and the metropolitan city of Vancouver! Following your arrival, spend the day exploring the many cultural districts of Vancouver. Visit FlyOver Canada for a flight through Canada’s scenic highlights from coast to coast. Enjoy ocean-side walking paths, or follow trails that wind through the urban rainforest of Stanley Park. Visit Granville Island Market for artisanal food and crafts, or wander through the historic streets of Gastown.

Day 2 – Vancouver to Jasper

Continue exploring Vancouver with free day to soak up the views, shop, and visit attractions. Come evening, board a VIA Rail overnight train bound for Jasper. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the onboard amenities and exceptional service of this memorable train experience. Sleeping cars provide cozy overnight beds and washroom facilities.

Day 3 – Jasper Arrival

Take in the mountain views as the train passes through the Cariboo and Monashee mountain ranges into Jasper National Park. A delicious breakfast and lunch are served onboard before arriving in the alpine town of Jasper. This charming village offers eclectic shops and cafes, and countless walking and hiking trails. Colourful local mountaineers and explorers offer great insight into life within a national park.

Day 4 – Jasper

A morning tour highlights the historic figures and scenic wonders of Jasper. Learn about the valley ecosystem, rugged mountain explorers, and photograph the mighty Athabasca River. Look down into the narrow limestone caverns of Maligne Canyon, shaped by over 10,000 years of water flow. Visit the disappearing Medicine Lake, and gaze out over the vast waters of Maligne Lake. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon in Jasper taking in the local mountain culture.

Day 5 – Jasper to Banff

Travel south along the spectacular Icefields Parkway to Banff. This route is home to over one hundred visible glaciers, turquoise lakes and rushing waterfalls. At the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre, enjoy a ride on an all-terrain Ice Explorer as it traverses onto the Athabasca Glacier. Venture out on a glass walkway suspended high above Sunwapta Valley at the Glacier Skywalk. Continue past Bow Lake and the Crowfoot Glacier to the resort town of Banff. Relax with a free evening in this beautiful mountain setting.

Day 6 – Banff and Lake Louise

Enjoy a morning sightseeing excursion through Banff’s highlights. Learn the historic significance of the hoodoos, shaped by centuries of wind, and stand on the shore overlooking Bow Falls. Enjoy a ride on the Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain. Take in the incredible panoramic views of Banff and the surrounding mountains from high above. In the afternoon, depart Banff for a scenic journey to world-famous Lake Louise, one of the most visited sites in the Canadian Rockies. Spend your evening in this enchanting wilderness setting surrounded by towering peaks, glaciers, and emerald green waters.

Day 7– Lake Louise to Sun Peaks

Depart Lake Louise and travel over the continental divide into Yoho National Park and the province of British Columbia. Traverse along the scenic Kicking Horse River Valley before ascending into the spectacular untouched wilderness of Rogers’s Pass. Stop for lunch in the Alpine Town of Revelstoke before continuing towards Okanagan Lake Country. The landscape transitions from rugged peaks to forested hills and expansive lakes. Continue through the desert-like hills surrounding Kamloops, as the road climbs through the Shuswap Highlands into the mountain region of Sun Peaks. Enjoy an evening stroll and keep your eye out for wildlife photo opportunities. Sun Peaks residents share this beautiful mountain village with many furry friends.

Day 8 – Sun Peaks to Vancouver

Continue your journey toward Vancouver, passing from forested mountains to the dramatic desert scenery of British Columbia’s cowboy country.  Follow the Thompson River Valley through Spences Bridge, a small town established during the Cariboo Gold rush of the 1850’s. Continue south toward Hell’s Gate and the spectacular Fraser Canyon. Lunch and a tram ride at Hell’s Gate offers a chance to witness the power of water as it churns and pushes through the narrow Hell’s Gate gorge. Following lunch, wind along the mighty Fraser River through lush pastoral valleys, passing into the urban centres of Abbotsford, Langley, and Surrey. Conclude in the coastal city of Vancouver surrounded by spectacular ocean views and the impressive peaks of the Coast Mountains.

Day 9 – Vancouver Departure

A morning check-out from your downtown hotel concludes this memorable holiday.
