Itinerary

Itinerary

Day 1 – Vancouver Arrival

Arrive in the modern city of Vancouver and spend the remainder of your day exploring this West Coast metropolis. Enjoy a coast-to-coast flight simulation over Canada’s remarkable landscapes at FlyOver Canada. Walk along the seawall and breathe in the fresh ocean air, and browse through artisan food and crafts at Granville Island Market.

Day 2- Vancouver to Sun Peaks

Depart the beautiful coastal city of Vancouver and travel east through the urban centres of Surrey, Langley, and Abbotsford. City-scapes transition to pastoral farmland and lush valleys as the highway follows the Fraser River. Continue north towards Hell’s Gate and the spectacular Fraser Canyon. Lunch and a tram ride at Hell’s Gate offer a chance to witness the power of water as it churns and pushes through the narrow Hell’s Gate gorge. Pass through Spences Bridge, a small town established during the Cariboo Gold Rush of the 1850s. Wind along the Thompson River, through the dramatic desert scenery of British Columbia’s cowboy country. The road climbs steadily up from Kamloops through the Shuswap Highlands into the mountain region of Sun Peaks. Enjoy an evening stroll and keep your eye out for wildlife photo opportunities.

Day 3 – Sun Peaks to Lake Louise

Continue your journey west, passing through grassy, rolling hills and ranchlands to Okanagan Lake Country. Landscapes transition into forested hills, orchards, and expansive lakes, winding through a series of scenic valleys. Witness the change from wide-open skies to towering, rugged peaks as you ascend into the Rocky Mountains. Stop for lunch in the alpine town of Revelstoke before continuing through the untouched wilderness of Roger’s Pass. Stand on the shores of Lake Louise, surrounded by towering mountains, and explore this rugged mountain paradise. The remainder of your evening is at leisure to enjoy the sights of Lake Louise, and take a stroll along the lakeshore trail.

Day 4 – Lake Louise to Jasper

Board a luxury motor coach for a full-day trip along the Icefields Parkway. This route is home to over one hundred visible glaciers, turquoise lakes and rushing waterfalls. At the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre, board an all-terrain Ice Explorer for an exciting ride onto the Athabasca Glacier. Step out onto the glacier and fill your water bottle with the freshest meltwater you’ll ever drink. Continue to the Glacier Skywalk and tiptoe out onto a glass viewing platform suspended high above Sunwapta Valley. Make a final photo stop at Athabasca Falls before arriving in the mountain resort town of Jasper.

Day 5 – Jasper to Banff

Enjoy a morning tour through the highlights of Jasper National Park. Photograph the mighty Athabasca River, and look way down through limestone walls into Maligne Canyon. Learn about the legend of disappearing Medicine Lake. Look out over the vast waters of Maligne Lake, surrounded by untouched wilderness. Take an afternoon shuttle service to Banff National Park, and spend your evening exploring the resort town of Banff.

Day 6 – Banff

Discover the landmark sights of Banff National Park with a morning tour. Visit the Hoodoo rock formations shaped by centuries of wind and rain. Photograph the famous Bow Falls, and gaze up at the Banff Springs Hotel, known as Castle of the Rockies. Look out over the aquamarine waters of Two Jack Lake. Ride a gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain and see more mountains in a moment than most see in a lifetime. Continue to Lake Minnewanka for an informative cruise to the landmark of Devil’s Gap. The reminder of your day is free to enjoy the mountain culture of Banff.

Day 7 – Banff to Calgary

This memorable holiday concludes with a shuttle transfer from your Banff hotel to the Calgary Airport.
